Having a pretty good week, although way too busy with work.

Doing Visual C++ programming for WindowsCE 4.2 platform. Yeah. Uh huh. No, I have not done it before.

Also dealing with a lot of legacy systems and for the most part don't have to deal with the new systems yet.

So, since I have been busy working, sleeping or driving, I haven't been on LJ much... fire up IE7b2 and take a look.

Wow... can LJ suck the joy out of you faster than a [insert funny line here]!

Thought back about a phone call that I got yesterday from a furiend. He probably has no idea on how it impacted me... but it made me smile as I thought, "Some of my friends are on LJ, but they are not defined by LJ and I should not let LJ impact how I feel about them or how their life is better/worse than mine."

Yeah...deep huh?

I know that everyone doesn't like a moger. Sorry. Try talking to me one on one. Tell me what you think about me and I will listen. Please listen to me when I reply.

Went to see Silent Hill with 5p1ic3 and Blue earlier this week... had a good time... at least the Pyger didn't give her directions in the Hospital. (Don't ya hate 'inside jokes'?) It was good, but just that good. I guess I missed something. While it kinda felt like I was watching someone else play a video game... at least they were more entertaining than watching DOOM.

I am busy Saturday morning, and probably afternoon (as the Pyger wants to go to the meet.) Sunday is family day.... so I am usually busy then.

However, as of right now, I don't have anything planned for Saturday night, so if someone wants to have some moger time, let me know.

Anyone going to CaliFur next weekend? Going down Friday night and back Sunday night? Have room for a moger? Just checking.

[Note: The subject is just a play on the IKEA name]

IKEA West Sacramento had their grand opening today.

After watching some TV coverage of it, it seemed that the crowd control was working, so I went along with my son and wife. We got there about 10:15am. Took about 10 minutes to get into a parking spot (that was a bit down the street.) I thought that by the time we got their all of the "free gifts" would be given out.

The first person in line got $3,000 of IKEA Gift Cards. Second got $2k and third got $1k. The next 100 people got a $79 chair. The first 500 kids got a Big Heart Hug soft toy. When we walked in, my son was one of the last kids to get one. That means that we could have waited for 8 hours and gotten one, or just drive a few minutes about 90 minutes after the store opened and got one. I think we made the right decision =)

The first guy was there for over 3 weeks, about 2 weeks for the next and just under that for the next one. Most of the 100 people were there anywhere from 9 to 18 hours before opening. Amazing what people will do for a $79 chair (that you still have to put together yourself) :-P

Went back about 4:30pm. Drove almost all the way into the parking lot. Found a space in the main lot and was inside... all less then 10 minutes. Had dinner at the Cafe and the Bistro.

Was fun... but no ALGs =(

I was pretty much oblivious at the number of cute guys there... until someone pointed out two. My wife. Yeah, she said something about two bears near us. It was funny and caught me off-guard. Considering that her "gaydar" is much better than mine, I am surprised that I didn't set it off earlier =P

After that, I was noticing a lot of cute guys (bears and others) at the store. Later we were in the lobby and I sat down in the chairs at the front and watched everyone going up the escalator saying "yes", "no" , "maybe"... =)

Overheard at IKEA: "Did you know that people who watch PBS have more sex?" (2 cute guys talking in the food store area)
