Pass EDNA Now

In most states, you can be fired for being gay, lesbian, bisexual, or transgender, regardless of your performance or qualifications. That's just not right.

The Human Rights Campaign is leading the charge to end this injustice by passing a federal bill called the Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA). But Congressional leaders recently decided to change the language of ENDA so that it only includes sexual orientation and NOT gender identity.

The Baldwin Amendment would place gender identity protections back in the bill.

I contacted Congress to make sure the entire GLBT community is included in ENDA. I'm hoping you'll join me in calling on Congress - we have a short window of opportunity on this one!

BTW, It isn't a matter of being gay, lesbian, bisexual, or transgender.  If you boss even just thinks you are, they can use it as a basis to fire you regardless of your qualifications or performance!

This is the reason why we can never ever get anything passed. If you want to change something it needs to be done one step at a time. Sexual orientation is something they may be able to pass. But If you put back transgender they will shit-can the entire thing.

That is the reality of it. You may not like it but I, and a great many of us are getting just a little tired of watching the baby get throw out with the bath water everytime the transgender community thinks their getting screwed.
