The likelihood that the gap would be overtaken is very small.

Although possible, it is most likely that the uncounted votes would follow the same percentages.

No On 8 just announced that we most likely lost, but the gap was close. In the end, the 400,000 votes between yes and no was a very small gap. There have been many steps forward and as in this a few steps back.

It does take time. Only 60 years ago it was against the law for blacks and whites to be married in California.

Up until 1974 same-sex intimacy was a crime in California. There wasn't a single law recognizing the relationships of same-sex couples until 1984 -- passed by the Berkeley School District. San Francisco did not pass domestic-partner protections until 1990; the state of California followed in 2005.

A lot has happened in my lifetime and even in the lifetime of my kids.
