Got a coupon for a free McDonald's Southern Style sandwich.. tried it.. yuck. Chick-Fil-A much better.

So, I wanted to use the WiFi. Tried the "Do you have any free WiFi coupons?" which does work at some McD's.

No luck. Drank down my Coke and ate the "sand-witch."

Off to Taco Bell. Free WiFi!

So, there is a sign that says "Please limit your stay to 45 minutes" mainly due to the local schools.

I grab MogerMeal (Double Decker Taco, Bean Burro Toe, Cinnamon Twists and an X-Large Mountain Dew)

Sit down, and fire up the computer. Have to log into a "Mega-Bite" page to get access and I am online for FREE.

"Please limit your time if the tables are full."

Well, for the last 4 hours they haven't been full. (Yeah, I have been keeping track.)

But at almost 3 hours, the staff keeps walking by. None wanting to ask me to leave or anything. =)

I am guessing they are talking about me as they keep looking over here. =)

The police have been here a few times too (no, they were just picking up food.)

So they tried to shut off the one outlet here in the customer area, except it also seems to control many other things in the restaurant, possibly the soda/ice machine.  While various things were out, they kept checking if I was online.  Of course, I have about 30 minutes of battery power. =)

So, they gave up on that.

Next was a nice bold move. Cut off the internet, except it seemed to have some problems with their stuff again.. and I anticipated this, and stored some stuff to work on offline.

Now, all they have to do is walk over here and ask, mention something, whatever, and I am out of here =)

Going to leave at 9pm anyways (they close up the customer dining area at 10pm here.. but the signal does make it to the parking lot.... if I had a power inverter... hee hee)

Guess I am being a Moger =P

I wonder how long it is going to be before McD's offers free WiFi at all the stores.

They did cancel the Nintendo DS Free WiFi awhile ago =(

Jack-In-The-Box is "testing" Free WiFi via JackTV at some of their stores (such as the one in Thousand Oaks,. CA,) while other JBX locations such as the one on the 101 in Camarillo, CA are offering their own Free WiFi (which isn't time limited, filtered nor require a sign in.. and yes, it does reach into the parking lot.... and also at qdoba in Westlake Village, CA qnd Valencia, CA)

Oh, well, I better get moving.. hoof a moose excellent day!

Anyone used Jott.com?

Seems like it would be a good thing foir those who need to send/receive text/sms/email often... instead of having to look at the phone all the time (like 99% the drivers seem to be doing even with "handsfree" headsets.)

See My Google Calendar

There is a button to see my schedule. My "busy" time. It doesn't include time for sleep, nor for actually running errands and such, but includes blocks of time that I am pretty much busy doing something (like watching my kids.)  I will try to update this calendar as often as possible.

In a nutshell..

Sunday - Every other one - busy until 9pm or later
Monday - Busy 2p-7p
Tuesday - Every other one - 2p until 9pm or later
Wednesday - Busy 2p-7p
Thursday - Busy 1p-7p
Friday - Busy 2p-7p + every other one busy from 2pm on.
Saturday - Busy - 7am-7pm and every other one busy all day.

Of course, that is just the preset schedule and does not take into consideration school holidays, errands, interviews (hopefully) and other stuff like that.   Such as 11/12 (Monday) I will be busy from 7am-7pm due to the school holiday.

Now, for the "free" time.. .please feel free to ask me out. Take me to a movie. To dinner (sushi?). To the beach. To the mountains. whatever. Help me fill out the rest of my time with something besides just sleeping, working on FURiends and looking for a job,. =)

Hoof a nice day.

If you are one of the few who eat at a Burger King, you are probably aware of their receipts having an offer on the back of them.  Basically, take a survey, get a code for a free Whopper or Original Chicken Sandwich with the purchase oif any size drink and fries.

Considering that the value menu at BK has $1 soda or ICEEs and $1 fries, with a coded receipt you could get lunch for a couple bucks.... if you had the code.

Now, if you are like me, I get to BK and remember that I have one at home or somewhere else.

What do you do?

What DO you DO?

You grab any receipt that has the info on the back and txt  BKFREE to 41411 on your cell phone* and get a code that is good that day!  No waiting around for the survey on the phone... in seconds you have a code and you can attack your hunger.

For those that can't use a cell phone, you can also go to http://www.textmarks.com/BKFREE and get a code on that page.

* Standard text messaging rates apply. Service available on the following wireless networks: AT&T, Verizon, Sprint, T-Mobile, Virgin & Alltel.

Spiral Frog

Remember back in the early days, when music downloads were free?

Well, so has SpiralFrog.com, a new service that officially launched today.

Now, first off, the site is swamped, and it is day one.  The site isn't handling the load too well. Next limitation.. Windows only, requires WMP11, and IE is pretty forward to install, FireFox requires a few extra steps (but aren't Firefox users accustomed to that?)

Now, it is basically Napster To Go, with out the $14.95 monthly fee.  You signup (no credit card, no spyware, no download charge, etc.) and you download.  You can only download 1 track at a time at this point.  The idea is that you might wander around and see advertising on the site (and besides the BK Simpsons Shooter, none of the ads I saw were that appealing.)  You must revisit the site every 30 days to keep your license active. At that time you will take a short survey and all the music you downloaded is extended for another month.  You don't have to redownload it.  Now, lets say that you forget for 60 days.  Well, it is all terminated and won't play... until you go back to the site and take the survey.  No need to redownload everything.

Besides the site being bogged down by lots of traffic today, it looks like a pretty cool service.  Of course, it still needs some work...
Oingo Boingo Search on Spiral Frog
I downloaded Oingo Boingo, Nine Inch Nails and Hilary Duff and Kanye West to name a few artists.

Check out SpiralFrog.com!

PS. They also have music videos to download for free as well.

UPDATE: I forgot to mention that you cannot burn to CDs and it only supports PlayForSure Subscription enabled players (which is many of the WMA 'MP3' players that support WMP11.  This is similar to NaptsterToGo (and actually most NapsterToGo players are compatible with this site.)

The squids are back in school so I have a little bit of free time...

Basically, weekdays between 11:45am and 2:45pm, Tuesdays possibly more, Sunday afternoons.

With proper planning, after 8pm any day but Thursday.

So, want to spend some time with a moger? please?

Ok, so you already got a DNS service, most likely via your ISP.

But checkout OpenDNS... interesting way of improving on things.

Most every song will be available during this one day free promotion, so if you are a Verizon customer don't forget to send the text message on Sunday, December 31st, to get your free ringtone. (It is from 12:01am-11:59pm Sunday, December 31, 2006. I believe based upon the time zone you are located in.)

I had to go to Target today to pick up some coolant for the PygerMobile. I figured I would head over to Panera Bread in front of the Safeway on Del Paso in North Natomas (Sacramento,) however I saw that there were people at the one that was just built in front of Target near Truxel and the 80.

I parked the PygerMobile over by the Panera Bread and started to walk to Target (yeah, at least get a little bit of excercise.) As I walked by the front door of the new Panera Bread, a woman asked me if I would like free lunch today. Of course! They are doing a training day and were giving out "Ten Phoney Panera Dollars" for you to spend for lunch. It was nice. Got a "You Pick Two", half a sandwich and half a salad. Also got a Mt. Dew to drink... all for FREE... not to mention FREE WiFi! Yay! Oh wait...even cooler... lots of power plugs near seats!

Where I am sitting the WiFi is bouncing from 24 to 48mbps which isn't too bad, figuring that they problably have a connection under 6mbsp to the net. I am going to move around the store later while running NetStumbler to see if it is just where I am sitting.

They will open on Wednesday, November 8, 2006.

"The first five people to respond to this post, will get some form of art, by me, about them. I make no guarantees about quality or type, but I will assure that I will give it good effort and that the art will be individual to you."

Only catch being that if you reply and expect my art piece, YOU have to repost this to your LJ and follow through. (direct copied)

I hate chain memes but hey, free art
